We had such a wonderful time! Brenda and Phoenix were very helpful and personable. Brenda hand-delivered our breakfast in the morning, and it was delicious and still hot. We stayed in the Orca cabin, and on arrival it was spotless, warm, and absolutely beautiful in the fresh snowfall. I had read several reviews mentioning a lack of hot water in the last couple weeks, but we did not have any real issues. We were able to fill our giant 2-person jetted tub 3/4 full with hot water, and it might just be that my husband and I grew up in the country, but especially considering the sub-20 degree weather outside, that was more hot water than I expected! Plenty for us. All staff we encountered were kind and friendly, the parking lot and sidewalks were plowed an hour before check-out so we didn’t need to rush to load up, and our dog loved exploring the grounds with us and falling asleep inside next to the cozy heater. All in all, a perfect winter experience, and we would love to come back someday!
No hot water our entire stay. We were NOT notified upon our arrival that there was no hot water. In fact when we called about it, we were told to let it run for 10 minutes and that it was working in the next room. That was an outright lie, as the next morning the woman who was working told us their boiler had gone out the day before and they were trying to get it fixed. Also, we were told management would reach out to us to make it right. They haven’t and it’s been nearly two weeks since our stay.
We were looking forward to staying at the Alaskan Inn, as we had spent our wedding night there over 20 years ago. It was really disappointing. The first room they put us in had a blocked drain in the sink, so we spent the first hour with a maintenance guy in our room. Then we were moved to a nicer room due to the plumbing issues. The room was nice but having no hot water made a romantic getaway less than romantic. Just wished they would have been honest and upfront about the situation.
My husband and I stayed here for my Birthday. We had the Gold rush room. It was absolutely amazing. The room was rustic but classy and the bathroom was stunning. We had a couples massage and it was so relaxing. I would love to know what kind of bed spread was on the bed because I’ve never in my life been so comfortable! I didn’t want to get up, ever.
I had the northern lights room and the blue light and the star lights weren’t working, I told the front desk person and they said ok sorry and said they let someone know tomorrow. I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to the lights from the pic online and the guy didn’t even offer a discount or offer anything to make up for it or get it fixed for the time I was there. The. The tv was working correctly I had to get the front desk guy to get the tv to turn on and the remote wouldn’t work right so had to get up to change the comet and turn it on and off. Then it one of the tiles I front of the tub was cracked and more elevated than the others and scrapped my foot. And then the breakfast they brought looked really good but it was cold sadly (biscuits and gravy and omelet). Was a cute place but things are checked before hand in the rooms and it’s never fun eating cold food and there was no microwave in room to heat it up:/
Overall I definitely wouldn’t come back definitely not worth the price when things can’t be fixed and done right :(
The staff was very kind and accommodating, the room was clean and cozy and we enjoyed our stay. However, there was no warm or hot water our entire stay and was toldto let it run for 10 minutes and there was still no change. Very disappointed to not even enjoy a warm shower or 2 person jetted tub that they advertise and for the price I paid. Everything else was satisfactory other than having warm water. Bummer
The General Manager and her son were very accommodating and informative. Fast and friendly service. Oh my, the beds are so soft and cozy! The food was wonderful, especially the cheesecake. My only concern was the lack of plugs in the room. It was tricky to plug in (charge) our phones, my hairdryer, curling iron, our speaker and lights while we were getting ready.
The chip bowl was $50, and so was the meat and cheese platter. I think it's obvious which one was worth the money. The "fireside" was around 50 bucks and was not that great. They kept apologizing for running out of things. I wouldn't say the individuals I met who worked there were to blame. They were nice enough. It was fun! But kinda cheap for the almost $500 dollars spent.
My friends and I were so excited to stay here for a weekend getaway. It’s nestled into the mountains and pretty magical. The staff we interacted with were very kind and engaging. Our room was pretty run down and was not as nice as it looked in the pictures. Our bathroom sink was clogged and no one came to fix it after we asked for maintenance. We ended up buying drain-o so it would be even semi usable. We ordered a lava cake from the restaurant and ended up waiting 45 minutes for it because they forgot to make it. There were two fire pits in the back, but neither worked. I kind of regret how much money we spent on this place for what we got.
